wheel bearing: if you have a press and some torches yes you can change it on your driveway.

Cooling: are you finding puddles of coolant anywhere? is there thick white smoke blowing out the exhaust?

sounds like u need a head gasket. If its not leakin on the ground its goin into ur motor.

if your losing coolant.... yes you might be burning it but if you filling up every week i think you would notice the car puffing smoke.

make sure your fan is working, also check the watar pump...its hard to see down there so you might have not noticed that.

you can do the rear hub in the driveway with no special tools but the front hub you would have to take the spindle out and take it to a shop to be pressed out.

if i were you i wouldnt attept it yourself.... from the way your talking i think your going to have a hard time

i found out the problem with my coolant i have a hole in my rad so if anyone has on for sell give me a shout. i am going to a temped the well bearing

movistardave 12-29-2007 12:58 PM

front or rear?

joevalotta 12-29-2007 06:37 PM

front

ok well.... your going to have to take the spinde out and if you dont have air tools you might have a hard time getting the upper and lower ball joints off because the ball will spin inside the socket if your turning it by hand.

when you get it off your going to need a 20ton press to get the old bearing out and to prees it back in. also you might need an air chisele to separate the old bearing race from the hub if it is seized.
