you can buy a Williem eprom burner for like $50 and chip is only like $6 go download crome free and you can mess around with the ecu by your self or get someone tune it for u

or check pgmfi.org they have carp load of info to chip a ecu, its pretty easy

thats a good way to screw something up.

Leave it to someone who knows what they're doing, it doesn't take much to completely ruin an ecu by using too much heat or leaving the iron on for too long.
And if you don't know what you are doing, cromefree can be pretty intimidating. If you want to DIY, i highly suggest getting cromepro (not free), a real time programmer ($175US....makes things so much easier), a datalogging setup (a must if you want to tune yourself), a wideband o2 ($300-500US), a burner (for when ur done tuning to burn the program to the chip) and a laptop.
So as you can see, doing it yourself can be pretty damn expensive, and for most people its easier/cheaper/safer to just pay someone to chip their ecu/tune their car.
