is it worth for me to swap a d15 b

i have a stock d15 b7 102 hp with 220 000 km wondering if it is worth for me to swap d15 b with 130hp and if that engine is fairly peppy or not and what the best mods to do to it are need swap and need low price thx.

D15b's are great engines. It's comparable to the d16z6. In all honesty, the best mod you can do on a d-series is go forced induction. You can piece together a homemade turbo kit for $1000-$2000. The best part about it is that turbo increases horsepower AND torque.

thanks man so you think i should go with the d15 b and save money and then do turbo later on i was just wondering like is the d15 peppy like their will be a large difference compare to my shitty d15 b7 right and any other mods u can think of thx man.

it would give you some more pep but not too much;dont worrie about hp worrie about torque that make you go faster but in my opinion for a few more hundred you could go bigger but its up to you

bigger cost wa more money new tranny new axles and so on and so forth thinking d15b then turbo later on not looking to spend more than 1800$

Honda Tech 04-11-2006 10:14 PM

k, so for a D15B. and want pep, what car do u have?

well this is what my friend has. a 92 civic hatchback, with ZC block and D15B head and tranny. he has a cold air, a header and full exhaust. he also has crap tires that are bald and he ran 15.4 at cayuga. I say decent pep for N/A with small bolt ons.

u may not want to try it but its ideas and its really cheap.

silentcivic 04-12-2006 11:57 AM

i have a 93 hatchback with 12pound rims keepin car very light and cant afford expensive engine so was looking at d15 b i have headers already that will bolt up that are brand new and cold air am gonna get exhaust done when engine is in you think buying the engine for 850$ from tecnotik is good price and what cars do you think it will keep up to and any ideals thx honda tech.

you want to spend 1800 bucks on the whole thing? If so you cannot get a turbo and all its components for that just to let you know.

silentcivic 04-14-2006 06:15 PM

it should be way cheaper! Are you putting the engine in your self? or getting a shop to do it? Because if you do it your self its easy.

the money you spend on a d15b, you can find yourself a nice b18b motor

silentcivic 04-17-2006 02:55 PM

if i get gsr would i be able to use my stock exhaust would it mount up to the headers

eth0r 04-17-2006 02:59 PM

well a b18b is from a LS/GS integra, as for a gsr (b18C1), not much has to be done to the exhaust, i think it just needs to be cut and shortened
