1989 honda civic LX sedan can the sunroof be takin off?

i have a 1989 honda civic LX sedan and was wandering if the sunroof can be detached because there is a little red sliding button that i have not known what is for since i got the car in 1989 lol but its a manual opening sunroof and i was wandering what the red button is for and if it can be takin off
