2001 Honda Civic EX - engine question?

I recently bought a used civic coupe. I don't know a lot abot cars, but when I'm on the highway, cruise control set at 70 mph - I noticed that it sounds/seems to rev more than it should. The RPM needle stays at 3. Is that normal??

If the clutch doesn't slip through first gear(revs high without the car moving). There doesn't seem to be a problem, seems about right for the auto or manual transmission. Your old car probably had a larger engine, i assume its a 1.6Lor 1.8L, this is a small motor and needs to rev to achieve 70 MPH.
