Can I have A/C installed in my 1991 Honda DX Hatchback ? I bought car...

...used with no A/C .? I love my 91 Honda hatchback, put back seats down and I can fit furnture in back.Is it worth putting new engine in. The newer Honda hatchbacks are smaller in the rear storage area.I currently have over 137,000 miles on my car. Thanks in advance for any & all advice

is your engine bad. if not run it those cars usually run lots of miles. on your ac. you will probably put more into the car than it's worth. but if it's a good car and your going to keep it for years then it might be worth it to you. but you will never get that back out of it financially. good luck

I've always said that if you have a car you love and has been good to you, then why not make sure you can keep it a bit longer? Hondas are indestructible. It's possible that it would cost about $1500 to have AC added, but you can save a lot if you buy used parts from the junkyard, like the compressor. On the other hand, if you decide to put a new engine in, you can just buy a rebuilt engine that already has the compressor on it, then just add the other stuff. The rest is mostly tubing, electrical, and then your condensor and receiver/dryer.

NO it would cost more than the car is worth. KEN mechanic
