Honda: Accord or Civic?

Ok, so I'm looking for a first car. And so I want a 4dr to keep insurance down. BUT I also want a car that is an easy tuner and looks great. I work at a pain/body shop so I'm not really a mech-head. Could someone tell me between civic and accord which is generally an easier tuner (able to find parts) and will be faster in the end?

The civic has WAYYYYYY more aftermarked mods than the accord at cheaper prices...It seems to me that the accord is more of a "luxury" car unlike the somewhat sportier civic. Go for the civic in your case.

a civic would be easier to tune and get parts for it. here is some web site to get parts and rims.

The Chevy Malibu its alot nicer than the Honda Accord and would look alot nicer when "pimped out"

Ok weither you get a 4dr or a 2dr your insurance is not gonna change prices (maybe a couple of dollars that's about it. Second Civic and Accord are great cars, either one will fit you well, really it all depends on what your needs or wants are.

Civic:

Pros:

* Higher MPG (On average 25+ MPG vs Accord which will give about 20 MPG at most i believe.)

* Lighter than an Accord

*1.7L Engine vs an Accord that has 2.2L Engine

*Is recognized by everyone as the little engine that could... :)

* More mods than an Accord....

* Is used by almost everyone in the racing world....

* Looks really nice as a Coupe especially when upgraded with Rims, etc....

Cons:

* Again Thomas The Tank Engine, the little engine that could. It's just that a little engine, no HP like the Accord...

Accord:

Pros:

*Accord is known as the semi luxury car between a Civic and a Prelude and the equivalent of an Acura which is the luxury of Honda BTW, not gonna say S2000 because the Prelude is right behind the S2000...

* Has more power than the Civic...

*The interior is bigger than a Civic...

Cons:

* Less MPG than Civic

* Heavier than a Civic thereby wasting more gas, not to mention if racing the Accord will cause you to perhaps lose the race because of the added weight....

* Less mods than a Civic....

*From my experience with Accords, they all tend to break down in the areas such as distributors, starters, and power window control panel... Haven't had many different Civics and neither have had them long enough to confirm if they have the same parts that break down but i know most Accords suffer from those 3 parts... because it's happen with at least 3-4 of my Accords that i can recall and i've had about 7+ accords to know.... The Power window control panel is by far the Accord's weakness as this is one of the junkyard's first parts to go once they put an accord in the junkyard.... and that simple little Power Window Control Panel can cost you anywhere from around $50 - $100+. and the distributor and starter are about $550+ for both not including labor charges...

My suggestion get yourself a Civic, your gonna like it better in the long run... Trust me on that.... cuz after about 7 Accords in my lifetime (and i'm only 23) i'll take a 95 Civic over a 97 Accord anyday if i had my chance to pick between both of them and they were free.
