Honda Civic 2001 LX Oil Change?

People have told me that my mileage 139,494 is too high to put 5w-20 oil in my car and I should upgrade to 10w-30 or oil that is a little bit thicker because of the high miles but the manual says my oil should be 5w-20. They told me I should only follow these instructions when the car is new. What kind of oil grade do you think I should place in my car?

oil viscosity has nothing to do with mileage what i do recomend is a high mileage formula oil at a 5W-30 weight such as like Castrol High Mileage or Q-State High Mileage hope that helps you some
