honda civic , how fast can they go, are they worthty racers?

hi i was wondering are honda civics, or honda civic hatchbacks fast cars like with the b16 and tubro and everything , are they worthy racers , can they be really fast , are they fun to drive , are they good on gas and reliable , whats better honda civic si , coupe , hatchback or what, what kind of races are they good for the most? how about rally racing ?

yeah honda civic's are awesome. but no they cant compete with the more expensive cars.(maybe) it mostly depends how well tuned it is..

it depends on what kind of racing you want to do... sure they can be fast with turbo and other mods of course. but you see the new civic si's have k20s in them.....they make the b16 look like a wind up toy..... theyre rated at 200hp stock. if you put a turbo with the other necessary mods on it, yes it will be pretty fast especially for a daily driver. but if you want to rally race, get the subaru wrx STi. its a beast, ive even seen STi's that will run 12 sec. quarter mile times on stock turbo. theyre all wheel drive and six speed, and i believe theyre rated around 300hp stock. can you say fun?

honda civics would be no competition for most of the top of the line cars out there. They top out at around 140, yes it is fast but its no challenge. They could be fast with a supercharger put in them but thats a lot to do. Civics also get around 24 mpg, which is definitely good considering the high gas prices. Coupe would be the best. Honda Civics would probably be best for just street racing, nothing too long to give something faster a chance to pull away too far. I'm not sure how they would do in rally races though.

No. They are slow. If you really want speed and don't want to spend too much, consider a V8 anything. Mustang, Camaro, GTO, Magnum, Crown Victoria Police etc.

B16's never came with a turbo from the factory and would run about $3000 to turbo.

Typical top speed of most D, B, H, and K series Civics are 125-145 mph.

Civics are great on gas. Especially CX,DX,VX,HX models.

Civics are very reliable.

Civic Hatchback models are the best for racing because they are very light.

Civics are excellent for auto cross and road racing.

The civic can reach about 120-130 MPH. If u want to trick it out, with a supercharger or nitrous, u could push it up to 150-160. They ARE good racers, but I find them a little too common. I don't know about 'fun to drive', but I know that it gets good mileage. I personally think the si version is the best, because it can reach the top speed that a stock civic can do; its also more $$. Also, the civic (all models) are somewhat too LOW to rally race. The underside will get damaged. It would be good for rally IF you raised the ride height. I personally would not use the civic, as i said before, it is too common, and there are better cars. I recommend a impreza WRX, a honda CRX, or a Mitsubishi 3000GT

Hope this helps!!
