Honda Civic Trans. question?

This is a 2 part question.I have a 2001 Honda Civic and I want to check the transmission fluid to see if I need to add more (its been acting just a little funny in cold weather)When I check the fluid and I pull out the dip stick, whipe off, and pull back out there is a litte drip of fluid on the end of the stick and the rest of the stick is wet. Should I go off of the "drip" or by the wet area to check the level? The fluid is still a clear red color. If it is low, my manuel says to fill it in the "filler hole", is that the same hole that I pull the dip stick out of, or is there a different hole?Im broke right now and can't get it in to get it flushed until next month and I don't want to hurt my car. Thanks!

you need to make sure your car is warmed up. if you check it when it is cold it will not be correct. and yes you put the trans fluid in the dip-stick hole. if the car is warmed up and you still can not see the trans fluid you need to stop driving it and put fluid in it immeditly. hope that helps

hi,tdl is correct, let the car warm up. next time, make sure you regularly check this kind of things. don't worry too much about your civic. Honda is a good quality automaker. the colour of you trans. oil should always be dark pink/light red. there could also be a leakage in your trans. going to your Mackinac is the best answer i can give you.drive safe in the cold weather.
