Honda CRX, upgrades? Should I?

I am about to buy my friends 90 CRX, it is pretty much stock except for its tail lights and muffler. I'm wondering, should I buy this cult classic and upgrade it? or should i just buy a new car like an integra. Im thinking about getting it and just doing suspension/brake upgrades until I graduate and get some kind of engine swap. But is it even worth it? I love upgrading cars, but Im not sure if this investment is worth it. Im buying the car for 1000 bux so that isnt too much. let me know what yall think

it is a manual, i wanted to do an LS VTEC mod but maybe building up the small 1.5 engine might be a better idea? I just want to build a small performance car.

Honda's are pretty durable, if you proper maintain it it can last well over 300k miles

I say it all depends on what kind of car you want to drive. Is it manual or auto? Do you like Honda's or don't care what kind of car you drive? All up to you

Honda cars are really durable but a 90 CRX, you really have to know what you are doing to make it worth the time and the money. if you don't know who to fix it yourself and maybe work on it, then is going to be bad because those cars brake down, don't know why. what i would recommend is to get a 240 nissan, i bought mine for about the same price and i have put in it just about 5 grand. And now i have race and won against some Integra, Honda, lexus, vw and even BMW so i would go with that... also you have to know what is the mileage and if its and automatic or manual, because for it to be a good modified car it needs to be manual. so just think about it. Good luck.

I would drive it. On the stock engine you get like 40 mpg. Do a swap whenever. The car is so light the mileage won't ever change. If you want speed do the LS swap. You don't even need the vtec. More is always better though.

Yes get it
