It's impossible to compare the reliability on two new cars, especially since both of these are new designs (I think they both came out in 2007). Both Honda and Toyota have a great record of being reliable, so you can't go wrong with either one.

The Civic will hold it's value slightly better than the Corolla based solely on its name.
