how do i know if my 96 honda civic coupe has vtec engine?
 
first i would like to know if all honda civic EX coupe have a v tec engine. Nothing is written on the engine that says vtec . What other engine type could it have ..it is 1.6 L

There's a big diagonal VTEC across the engine.Honda uses the VTEC and the i-VTEC so if you've got another kind of engine and it's a used vehicle, someone may have changed it out.

Open the hood and look at the engine, it should say VTEC right on it.

Call the local Honda dealer and give them the VIN number to the vehicle and they will tell you. Including anything else you wanna know. They can tell you alot of things with that VIN number.Call the dealer parts department

most honda-fuel injected engines have vtec

if your engine said DOHC VTEC or VTEC on it then you have a vtec
