If you have a list of all your bills and can budget yourself to cover all your expenses, then by all means go for it...Also remember, the higher the credit score, the better your chances of getting a lower interest... Trust me a high interest is the worse...

When i was 21 i got a Mitsubishi mirage coz i loved them so much. (in 2002) Didn't think about when i would start a family etc. I still have the car, & a 20 month old baby & it is soooo hard to fit a baby, stroller, carseat, baby bags, etc in the car. It was also hard to find a baby car seat & stroller to fit in it. I would seriously think about when you want to statr a family before you buy it. Small cars are great, but not roomy enough!

you should check first to see how their crash tests rate.i am not sure if that's made in china, but i heard the cars they make arent very safe in a crash because they are made w/ cheap materials. they probably contain lead inside too?you should buy american!

Go for it. I have a 2005 Civic LX. It is an awesome car. It gets great gas milage and is fun to drive. (I have a 5 speed) If you get one that has been serviced regularly, it should be a good car for you for quite a while. Seriously, I don't think you'll regret it at all.

Yes. "For 2006, Honda redesigned the Civic, giving it a curvier look. In many countries (USA, UK, New Zealand), all models (including the base model) come standard with ABS and side and curtain airbags. Additionally, the 2006 models acquired ULEV-2 (Ultra Low Emission Vehicle) certification and boast a more powerful 1.8 litre engine than the 2005 counterparts while retaining almost equal fuel economy. In the North American market, the sedan, coupe, sedan Si (in Canada as the Acura CSX Type-S), coupe Si, and Hybrid models are available. An Si sedan began manufacture for the 2007 model year. The sedan and coupe are available in three trims (DX, LX, EX); however, the Civic Si and Hybrid are sold with relatively few options (such as a navigation system, automatic day/night compass mirrors, and wheel locks). The 2008 model brought some new features and a Si Sedan to Canada."

The response about asking your checkbook is spot-on!

You don't mention your income.

I prefer to drive a 1999 Civic and be able to say "one check...I got it" when I'm hanging out with my friends at the bar or restaurant and the waiter says "will this be separate or one check?"

That said, you only live once. If the car appeals to you, AND YOU CAN AFFORD IT, get it. Personally, I find a car note sickening. Having to shell out that money every month for five+ years!!

If you know your job is secure enough to pay for it, go for it. 2-3 yr old cars are excellent deals; a little research and you know exactly what to expect from them, plus you get a pretty new car without the new-car price.
