What is the best way to maximize gas mileage in a Civic Hybrid?

I bought one about 3 weeks ago and am getting 40+MPG in mostly city driving which is about double what I am used to. I am happy with that but want to know if there was a way to get more out of it. Any ideas?

Keep unnecessary weight out of the trunk. Keep tire pressure on front at 35 PSI and rear at 32 PSI. Keep car clean and waxed to prevent friction. Change the oil and air filters regularly.

No jack rabbit starts, look ahead at the stop that is coming, coast more.

Never be in a rush to get anywhere, it never helps anyway. If the commute normally takes 15 minutes, plan on 20, if it tales an hour, plan on two.

Take the bus or metro more, your single driving in a car that gets GREAT mileage does not help the 1.5 gallons you wasted on commutes that a bus or train is going to do anyways.

Check tire pressure daily.

Whether you are driving or not, check the air pressure.

Oh stewardess,I speak jive.

My advice is to inflate tires as much as possible.Read the sidewall of the tire itself which tells the maximum cold inflation pressure. My tires are rated for 45psi cold and I inflate all four to 40psi.

Use 5W-30 energy conserving oil.I do oil changes myself every 3000 miles with regular oil not synthtic.Synthetic oil may be superior but additives in synthetic like detergents get worn out.

I think the best kept mileage secret is the far right lane.If a car is going fast is one gaining time or losing the common good?
