...affordable are v techs good? i want to buy a engine for a honda civic with high performace potential and that can actualy handle getting beat on ..im gunna do an engine swap on a 1994 honda civic and was wondering what kind of engine to buy to build up ..would v tech or jdm be a good choice that all i have so far .if you could name off any affordable engie brands that could fit in my car and could actualy have the potential to go fast that would be cool

well i only know that my dad replaced a regular 92 civic engine with a v-tech and it does go way faster, but i wouldnt say high performance which you are looking for

First off its vtec.















Secondly jdm isent a brand.















Its an engine fron japan.















Also you cant just throw any engine in your car.















For one emmissions wont be the same, so you have to pay extra to get around that or makes your car pass somhow.















Also your car is obd-1 i think so you have to get a engine that runs on obd-1.

i would go with a b16 or gsr. You will notice a huge diff, and probably pull a 14 at the 1/4 mile.















Also you have to get aftermarket motor mounts, ect..















Change your ecu with the one to run the engine.
