01 Civic transmission chg

I bought my car new and put 30k miles per yr on it (commute 600mi week). It
is still in new condition and I want to keep it that way.I went and had the
brake drums turned and transmission flushed today at my local repair shop
who I've used a long time. They told me they couldn't change the
transmission fluid and advised I have it done at Honda. Its not under
warranty now (68k mi) and the closest dealer is a out of the way.

Is there an "off the shelf" brand I can get? Should a "dura-lube type
supplement" be used?....any advice appreciated.

Mike

My advise is to have it towed to a Honda your nearest honda dealer so you
can take advantage of the warranty?
