03 Accord recall: how urgent?

Got a recall for our 2003 (US) Accord LX with 4cyl, auto. There are 3
items: evap. emisssions, failure to get in reverse, and an air intake
issue. The evaporative emission sounds like just a pollution issue and
the failure to engage reverse gear is supposed to only be a problem when
stuck in snow. Those can wait.

The other one (air intake hose falling off ) could lead to engine damage.
Anyone know how often this has been happening?

If it's a recall, you can usually get the stats at the U.S. Gov site.

Re: 03 Accord recall: how urgent?

TAKE IT IN. that is the purpose ofa recall so you do not ahve any damage
done to your car. Honda is doing you a courtesy by recalling these items.
The revers item is not only whne it is stuck in snow it ahs to do with the
linkage binding.

TAKE IT IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the reverse thing is a ECU reprogram, the air tube is simple also.
only takes 20 min. to do the both of them.
the reverse condition has nothing to do with the shift linkage.
that applies to the 2002-03 crv's only!

Re: 03 Accord recall: how urgent?

I don't know what problems you are talking about. The recall I'm
familiar with relates to rocking an automatic transmission between D
and R as I understand it. Wouldn't apply to your car. There's another
recall item that is some weak hose clamp or something like that. I
have no idea if that is particular to automatics or whether you have
the 4 or 6.
