'03 CR-V Vibration?
Since new, I have observed a vibration at the steering wheel when driving
45 - 55 mph. The dealer has determined that it is in the rear of the vehicle and appears to the driver as steering-wheel vibration. In the passenger seat it does seem to come from the rear. Dealer has checked the car three times, balanced and rotated tires, replaced tires with new ones, aligned it, but the vibration continues. I notice that it is worse in the early morning when the tires are cold. I am now suspecting rear half-shafts or maybe the drive shaft. Dealer seems baffled. Any suggestioins? Thanks, Carl |

Actual Users know the exceptions" You didn't mention your mileage, but if your CRV also makes a low, moaning sound when you do three-point turns, or tight U-turns, you should just change the rear differential fluid. It's a cheap way to eliminate part of the diagnostic equation. If the mileage is even 20,000 miles, I'd just change it. The owner's manual interval has been proven to be radically WRONG. In the directions Curly mentioned that the drain plugs are over the left

If you put your chin close to the rear LEFT wheel, and look at the differential, you'll see two plugs (on the diff), and your line of sight will be tracing the route that you'll be running the Tygon hose, resting it on top of the tire, and guiding it into the top hole for filling. If you put your chin close to the rear LEFT wheel, and look at the differential, you'll see two plugs (on the diff), and your line of sight will be tracing the route that you'll be running the Tygon hose, resting it on top of the tire, and guiding it into the top hole for filling.
