1988 CRX Tail light leaks
I had some body work done to the rear wheel wells on both sides. Since
I've had the car back, rain has leaked into the car via the right side tail light. I suspect the body shop didn't get the gasket in right. I took it back to them once but I think I'd be able to fix this myself. Can I purchase new gaskets somewhere? Can I make these myself? |
Re: 1988 CRX Tail light leaks
Two options:
1. Buy new gaskets from www.slhonda.com or http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...catdisplay.jsp . Disassemble tail light assembly (it's pretty self-evident). Install. 2. Disassemble tail light assembly. Clean old gaskets. Buy silicone caulking and apply to both sides. Advantage: Cheaper. Disadvantage: When this next leaks, cleaning off the old caulking may be a chore. I went with option 2 about 2 years ago on my 1991 Civic. The repair is holding fine.
