1992 Accord trouble - help!!
Hi All,
Hopefully someone can help.. I'm having trouble with my 92 Accord.. 5spd... About once a week, it won't start..... tries to, but just won't fire. I'll let it sit for a few hours, then it will start without a problem We've replaced all filters, plugs, plug wires, distributer cap and rotor. Was beginning to think it was the fuel pump, but when it does start, it runs fine. Has anyone else had this problem, if so, could you point me in the right direction. I'm not looking forward to dropping $300 for a local garage to tell me "it could be this..." and apparently my accord is "too old" for AutoZone's gizmo to tell me what the problem is. If anyone has any info, I'd appreciate it Thanks Steph |
Re: 1992 Accord trouble - help!!
Hi Steph,
I got nearly the same problem. My 1992 Prelude do not start, when the car is hot because of direct sun shine or when the engine was turned off a few minutes before. The garage did not find the problem. May be it is something with the catalytic converter or sensors or electronic ... ? I hope somebody will have a real solution. Kind regards Joachim Engel. |

Have you cleaned your fuel injectors? You can get some Techroline at you
local autoparts. I use Cheveron gas and it keeps my injectors clean. "Steph" <steph@tusco.net> wrote in message news:sI50b.6$uS.8269@news.uswest.net... > Hi All, > > Hopefully someone can help.. Re: 1992 Accord trouble - help!!
I think I had the same problem with my 92 accord last fall. The fix was to
replace the electric relay located underneath the sterring wheel. Its a little tricky to install but it can be done the part cost about 100 plus. Re: 1992 Accord trouble - help!!
OK Gang been there done this.
Under the dash, is an ignition relay. Due to summer(hot weather) winter (cold weather), the relay fails over time. I sold my 91to my boss who soon had this same problem. It's actually quite common. Now, go to www.batauto.com and leave a post in the import message board for "Honda Dude" This guy really knows his stuff. He can speak to installation. I believe the part was 100.00 bucks. Hope this helps. Chuck "Steph" <steph@tusco.net> wrote in message news:sI50b.6$uS.8269@news.uswest.net... > Hi All, > > Hopefully someone can help.. Re: 1992 Accord trouble - help!!
Had the same problem.. the problem may be resolved with the replacement of
your main relay. (its a $60 part and is real easy to install) see http://techauto.tripod.com/mainrelay.htm for more information on the problem "Steph" <steph@tusco.net> wrote in message news:sI50b.6$uS.8269@news.uswest.net... > Hi All, > > Hopefully someone can help..
