1994 accord gas gauge

My gas gauge doesn't work. It didn't when I got the car. It is stuck clear
above full. Has anyone else had this problem or know what it my be?

Does it move to that spot when you start the car, or is it stuck there
permanently?

If it moves when you start up, then the float in the tank is probably stuck
or the wire back there is shorted. If it is planted in place and never
moves, then the problem is likely in the gauge.

If you had any reason to doubt whether the indicated mileage is correct,
this could suggest that the whole cluster was changed, but the fuel
guage isn't compatible with your year / model.

Great post. I suspected a gauge problem but now agree that it could also
be a stuck float problem.

theres a possibility of bad gas interfering with the gas probe giving
the gauge false readings.

where do you live? bad gas apparently affected some parts of the gulf
south Shell gas stations.

Look under the car and see if there's a big dent in the side of the gas
tank...

I've heard that the fuel sending units in the circa-1994 models is an issue
and an expensive repair. Mine acts up from time to time, I just am careful
to know exactly how much gas I have in the car and the mileage the car
usually gets.
