1995 Civic EX 02 sensor replacement problems.......
Well it has finally come to the time where i got the error 41 code. After checking the 02 sensor with a DVM it is definately dead. After a few douses with PB Blaster the sensor was still being a total pain to get out, and after a quarter of the way i noticed the threads had a small flat spot on it. Now should i just try and get the sensor the rest of the way out not knowing how bad it is, try and tap the threads, and install the new one? Or take it to a shop? Any help would be appreciated since i would like to do this myself. Cheers, -Steve- |

I would take the sensor all the way out and inspect the threads in the manifold. *You* won't cause any more damage removing the sensor than would someone at a shop. If the threads are damaged, you could clean them out with a tap, drill out and put in a helicoil or just jam the new sensor in there, as the car will likely be made into 5-penny finish nails before needing another O2 sensor. |
