Go to Autozone or somewhere and get the code read for free, or take it to the dealer -- it may be covered under the seat belt warranty. Mine was. Paul |

Enhanced OBD-II codes start with P1 instead of P0, and are not subject to the standardization rules that P0 codes are, so the manufacturer can make them mean whatever they want. But as I understand it, they are still readable with the usual scanners that anybody has. -- TeGGeR® The Unofficial Honda/Acura FAQ www.tegger.com/hondafaq/ |

That shop and the dealer both listed the code as 9-3 on the receipts I got. I don't know what the P1/P0 code was. In any case, the fix was a seat belt buckle, covered under the lifetime seat belt warranty. Paul |
Re: 1997 honda civic 4dr ex
this could be from any bad SRS component or a component being disconnected.
a bad SRS control unit, steering cable reel. airbags, impact sensor. belt buckle switch....etc...... If you have an extended warranty, check to see id srs components are covered. which i doubt.
