1998 Accord V6 idle air control

I have a recurring OBDII 0505 code, which my Haynes manual says is the
IAC valve. All the checks I've tried (idle speed (about 650-700), idle
variation when I remove the connector, voltage to the valve) seem
normal. It looks to me like all the hoses are connected, although I may
be looking in the wrong places. Does anyone have any other ideas what to
do? Thanks.
