The problem is that people in the North have no idea, either.

If people had to pay at the pump or when they bought the car
for the damage salt does in shortening the life of the car,
destroying roads and bridges, poluting ground water, killing
trees, I doubt that much of it would be .

So human deaths are preferable to ing salt?

Do you have any idea how lethal winter roads are before salt is ?
