2001 accord..belt or chain?

I have a 2001 ex v6.I assume it has a timing belt.Am I correct?
It has 118,000 kms. and I am not sure if the belt has been changed. Is there
a way I can find out.My dealer said they could only find out if it was done
there, but I know it wouldn't have been done there.

Thx

It has a timing belt. The 03 and newer have timing chains.

There is no way to tell if the belt has been replaced or not unless you
ask the previous owner. But since it sounds like you bought it from a
dealer, that's not possible. If I were in your position, I would
definitely change the timing belt and water pump if only for peace of
mind...

I thought I read the new Accords moved to timing chains... I guess I was
wrong about it.
