2001 Civic A/C
 

I bought my car new 2 yrs ago and it has 68k miles on it now (I commute 34k
annually). Today, while in an extended traffic jam (Dallas) I noticed my A/C
air became warmer...not hot, just not as cool as it should be. After getting
back to normal speed, it seemed ok. Is this a sign of pending A/C repairs to
come?

FYI, only two days prior to this, I had taken it in for Recall work to
replace the wiring harness which on some 00's and 01's were causing the low
beam lights to go off. Might this be connected to the problem?

What was your TEMP guage showing at the time, and is your coolant full
to the MAX mark in the plastic reservoir? Unless they unplugged a temp
sensor, the work and the problems shouldn't be related.

Might be time to have the R-134a tested for proper pressure.
On a side note, I'll be in Dallas next month for a wedding, and am
interested in checking out "rust free southern cars". I'm looking at '92
and '93 Accords. Any good dealers down there? bob in N.E.Ohio

Isn't that an oxymoron?(good dealers):-) You'd be better off buying one that
age privately. Try bringing up the ads from the Dallas Morning News.

My brother bought a 92 Accord in 96 from AutoFlex who sells good cars,
mostly rentals. I bought it from him with 112k on it and gave it to my son
with 200k on it. He still has it with 250k on it and still going strong,
except it needs a little A/C work.
