2002 Civic Oil Leak
My 2002 Civic EX with 25,000 miles is leaking oil, in the area of the rear
main seal. Is there anything else under there besides the seal, like an innocuous cooler line or something, that could be the problem? I'm very disappointed this is happening so early in it's life. Anyone else experience this? Thanks. Scott |
Re: 2002 Civic Oil Leak
Honda has a well known oil seal problem, take the vehicle to a
dealership, it might be covered. I had an Accord V6 that blow out an oil seal at 7K while my on daughter was driving on an interstate. The engine was fried till she got stopped. At first Honda gave me a hard time because the car was not serviced at a dealership. They relented and replaced the engine when I provided proof the oil was changed at the proper intervals with the proper grade and viscosity oil. mike hunt sbd wrote: > > My 2002 Civic EX with 25,000 miles is leaking oil, in the area of the rear > main seal. Re: 2002 Civic Oil Leak
Seal replaced this morning. Sure, the first is free, but with a 25k
replacement interval, the rest are on me. I'm discouraged; this is not why I bought a Honda. Thanks again. <BigJohnson@mailcity.com> wrote in message news:3F969A0B.AC14788F@mailcity.com... > Honda has a well known oil seal problem, take the vehicle to a > dealership, it might be covered. Re: 2002 Civic Oil Leak
Shift Shaft Seal, by the way. Must have been transmission fluid, I guess.
