2003 Accord AC condenser
I have a 2003 Accord which before even 2,400 miles suffered from multiple
strikes of small (some very small) stones to the AC condenser. It seems to me that the rather "open" quality of the lower grille just begs for road debris to come through and puncture this part. It would be so easy for Honda to simply put a black screen there and save us money, but then, they wouldn't make any money for parts and dealer install, would they? Has anybody had this problem on any Accord with an open lower grill? I want to sue Honda for a design defect if I can show enough people have experienced this. The replacement cost is about $500, but then hey, its only money! |

MANY CR-V owners have installed various kinds of bug screen and grille material to protect the lower part of the condenser. I've done my wife's CR-V and I was going to do mine but the cold weather moved in too soon. I used gutter guard from Home Depot. Very labor-intensive because it doesn't stick well, since it's made of polypropylene (or something). 'Curly' |
