Re: 2003 CRV EX Intermittant Dome Light Problem

After I wrote the message last night, I took the bulb out. I noticed that the light went on when I touched the bulb (either the metal or the glass part) but then went off when I removed my finger. The bulb is clipped in place similar to a fuse. One metal cap contact came off the bulb when I removed it. I suspected a bad bulb. Today I put in a new bulb. (More than $4 for a bulb!) The light works fine today and tonight. That seems to have fixed it. My question is why couldn't the service tech have suggested this to my wife? Did they even check the bulb? This is supposed to be the best service oriented "Honda President's Award" dealer in my area. So much for good service. After 3 previous Honda's with many hundreds of thousands of miles, my wife and I cannot recall ever previously changing a dome light bulb. Hmmmm..... |

If it gets back to the guy who fixes these things, he'll know to look for it on the next one. |
