30 only. My 4 banger auto 2003 Accord gets 34 to 37 at 70-80 mph w/
passengers. But even better than that, it's paid for.

Hold on to that car.

My 4 cylinder auto 2003 Accord has never gotten 34 mpg on any tank, with
all maintenance faithfully done and tire pressure properly maintained.
Over 101,704 miles, I have gotten 27.77 mpg (3,662.12 gallons) - and a
lot of those miles are highway miles.

Granting that a lot of those were at 80-85 rather than 70-80 mph, I find
your mileage estimates amazing.

30 mpg for the '07 V6 would be excellent, but those numbers are likely
only the EPA estimates, wildly inaccurate.

Huh. My 2000 Accord--a jewel of engineering, 4 cylinders and manual
transmission--regularly got 35mpg going up and down the mountains in
summer with the AC on--and 75-80mph was very common.

It's no surprise that a newer design would get 34 to 37 with passengers.

It's also no surprise that your automatic trans model gets a bit
less--but 28 lifetime with mostly highway miles? Should be more than
that, I'd think, unless you had a BUNCH of very very short trips in very
cold weather in there to drag it way down.

You're stating a lifetime average. Do you have any tank to tank numbers
you can share? Did you ever get 34 to 37 on a tank, given that most of
your tanks were probably all highway miles?

I have all of them. You can see them up to a year ago here:

http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/misc/

click on the link 'mileage.xls'. I meant to delete my own car info when
I sent Tegger the sheet, but forgot, so it's there to see. As I
said earlier, I *never* got 34 mpg.

One very interesting thing to me is the record of the cost of gasoline
in my area over the last four years...
