2008-09 Canadian Civic safety recall
 

"A small number of Honda's latest Civic model are being recalled because
a fuel hose connector is missing a nut. Safety officials are concerned that
if the car was in an accident the force might be enough to separate the
hose and connector, allowing gasoline to escape. Dealers will install the
missing nut on the 2008-09 models of the popular car."

i had a cousin who was missing a nut, but he did OK.
