The following is Honda's normal maintenance schedule for a 2004 CRV at
30,000 miles. The severe service schedule is after this one. I hope this

This two-page Maintenance Schedule outlines the minimum required
maintenance. Service at the indicated distance or time, whichever comes
first. Use the Maintenance Schedule for Severe Conditions if the vehicle
meets any of the qualifiers in the Severe Conditions schedule or if the
vehicle is normally driven in Canada.

NOTE: According state and federal regulations, failure to do the maintenance
items marked with an asterisk (*) will not void the customer's emissions
warranties. However, Honda recommends that all maintenance service be done
at the recommended intervals to ensure long-term reliability.

o Replace engine oil, every 10,000 miles (16,000 km) or 1 year.

o Capacity: without oil filter 4.0 l (4.2 US qt).

o Rotate tires, and check tire inflation and condition, every 10,000 miles
(16,000 km).

o Follow the pattern shown in the Owner's Manual.

o Inspect drive belts, every 30,000 miles (48,000 km) or 2 years.

o Look for cracks and damage, and inspect the auto tensioner indicator; no
adjustment needed.

o Replace dust and pollen filter, every 30,000 miles (48,000 km) or 2 years.

o Replace the filter whenever airflow from the heating and cooling/climate
control system is less than normal.

o Replace air cleaner element, every 30,000 miles (48,000 km).

Severe maintenance schedule

30,000 miles/ 48,000 km/ ---
Service at the indicated distance or time, whichever comes first. Use this
schedule if the vehicle is driven MAINLY in Canada or in any of the
following conditions; if only OCCASIONALLY driven in these conditions, use
the Normal Conditions schedule.

Severe Driving Conditions

a.. Driving less than 5 miles (8 km) per trip or, in freezing
temperatures, driving less than 10 miles (16 km) per trip.

b.. Driving in extremely hot (over 90ºF/32ºC) conditions.

c.. Extensive idling or long periods of stop-and-go driving, such as a
taxi or a commercial delivery vehicle.

d.. Trailer towing, driving with a car-top carrier, or driving in
mountainous conditions.

e.. Driving on muddy, dusty, or de-iced roads.

Do the items in parts A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, and K as required for
the mileage/time interval listed.

o Replace engine oil, every 5,000 miles (8,000 km) or 6 months.

o Replace engine oil filter, every 10,000 miles (16,000 km) or 1 year.

o Capacity: with oil filter 4.2 l (4.4 US qt).

o Check front and rear brakes, every 10,000 miles (16,000 km) or 1 year.

a.. Check pads and discs for wear (thickness), damage, and cracks.

b.. Check calipers for damage, leaks, and tightness of mount bolts.

o Lubricate all hinges, locks, and latches, every 10,000 miles (16,000 km)
or 1 year.

o Rotate tires, and check tire inflation and condition, every 10,000 miles
(16,000 km).

o Follow the pattern shown in the Owner's Manual.

o Inspect tie rod ends, steering gearbox, and gearbox boots, every 10,000
miles (16,000 km) or 1 year.

a.. Check rack grease and steering linkage.

b.. Check boots for damage and leaking grease.

c.. Check fluid lines for damage and leaks.

o Inspect suspension components, every 10,000 miles (16,000 km) or 1 year.

a.. Check bolts for tightness.

b.. Check condition of ball joint boots for deterioration and damage.

o Inspect driveshaft boots, every 10,000 miles (16,000 km) or 1 year.

o Check boots for cracks and boot bands for tightness.

o Replace air cleaner element, every 30,000 miles (48,000 km).

o Under dusty conditions, otherwise use the Normal Conditions schedule.

o Inspect drive belts, every 30,000 miles (48,000 km) or 2 years.

o Look for cracks and damage, and inspect the auto tensioner indicator; no
adjustment needed.

o Replace dust and pollen filter, every 30,000 miles (48,000 km) or 2 years.

o Replace the filter as often (at 15,000 miles/24,000 km intervals) if the
vehicle is driven mostly in urban areas that have high concentrations of
soot in the air from industry and diesel-powered vehicles; also replace the
dust and pollen filter anytime airflow is less than usual.
