88 Accord (carbureted) idle problem

At idle this car has started to drop rpm's until it almost dies then the
rpm's kick up to 2000-3000 and the cycle repeats.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I had a similar problem. When my car was warm between 2000-3000 rpm the car
started to misfire and fluctuate up and down. I had to drive my car past
3000 for it to be drivable. I took it to the auto electrician and he rebuilt
my distributor, and put a new power relay. Now its fine.
