89 Accord auto A multi queary from clueless, and quick fix for heater slider

89 accord sedan automatic trans aircon ........135K some rust......paid
$650 !!

#1

The heater works but cold air comes out the vents unless the vent button is
pushed then hot air comes out the vents (above the buttons) I can live with
it but before I duct taped stuff was wondering if there was an obvious
fix...

#2

Noises started when I opened the door and they wouldn't stop even with the
key out so I unplugged a module directly under the steering wheel that was
attached to a panel which I removed. .. A second noise (it was stereo
noise!! ) was emanating from the bottom of the center console in front of
the shifter. That plug had many wires in it but the noise stopped when I
unplugged it. I test drove it for a short ways and all seemed fine and it
still blew heat and my lights worked..(is there really any more to life?)
What are these/what do they do, these two modules?

#3
The slide lever under the left side of the steering wheel doesn't appear to
adjust the steering wheel at all, and I was wondering what its purpose in
life is.

#4
On the shifting console in front of the handbrake there is a toggle switch
(momentary) with a triangle on it that causes thumping noises to emanate
from the drivers side firewall. WTF is this switch for?

#5
What fuse is for the lighter and interior lights? it wasn't noted on the
fuse diagram.

Thanks so very much in advance. And here is an FYI for heater temp slider
problems.....

I'm the same guy that had a heater slider problem, and which I was given
great advice how to fix. I came up with a quicker fix if anyone has a slider
problem... which I ended up opening the valve from under the hood instead of
messing around taking apart the center dash console and stereo.

Epitaph

This 89 accord is my replacement car for the 94 civic (bought new) that had
way over 270K many of which were hard flogged miles. It still has a lot of
power, just no brakes exhaust, shocks and waterpump. and I was so close to
putting in new brakes!! I beat the snot out of this car...drove it right
into the ground and it never failed me.(except when the distributer STB but
that was close to home) May she rest in piece(s)

1 . is it all the vents or just the centre one? adjust the contrlo
cable behind the ashtray that controls it with the lever down.

2. I can email you the diagram

3. pull it out , push it down to loosen the steering colunm to adjust.

4. power antenna. the thumping is a stuck antenna

5. see #2
