90 Accord cutting out

1990 accord exr 5spd, 240,000km
while accelerating or cruising, the motor will loose all power and shut down
for a second or two, then come right back and drive fine. I have already
changed the Ignition switch, distributor, main relay, new plugs, wires, cap
and rotor.
I've noticed the idle is high too, around 1000 rpms.
What are your thoughts on Igniter, coil, pcv valve or fuel filter? could one
of these be causing my problem?
Thanks

sounds like ignitor, right from the start.

Thanks,
I bought and replaced the ignitor last night... we'll see how it goes.
I thought the problem was fixed after I changed the ignition switch a while
back, but the stalling continued, but much less frequently.
How accurate do you think the factory tachometer is? my idle reads just
under 1000rpms on the dash, but the motor doesn't sound like its turning
that fast. I have a feeling if I hook up a hand held tach, it will be much
lower.

The factory tacs are almost always off, at least a little, sometimes a lot.
But sound isn't the way to go...

If the new igniter does not solve the problem, I would suggest that you
take it to an expert and have him or her check all of the main wires. A
short in any major wire could cause such a problem. Please don't ask me
for a list of the important major wires because I'm not an expert.
However, I did have such a problem with an old car and that turned out to
be the cause of the problem.
