92 Accord EX Tune up help.............................................. ..........

I have a 92 accord EX that I just bought off a guy for $450. Its the
4 speed auto. I am getting 18-19 mpg and I am runnin it like my
grandma would. I also live out in Cow Town. It's got 155,000 miles
on it and I think it needs a tune up, bad. Do any of you guys have a
list of stuff that is included in a "tune up"? Any help would be
great. He didn't have any matience records.

TIA,
-Adam

Does it smoke? If not, I would (in this order)

check air pressure in tires
change oil and oil filter
change air filter
change spark plugs
change fuel filter

If low mileage persists, you have to look into the more expensive items.
Also, you are way past due for a new timing belt.

Re: 92 Accord EX Tune up help.............................................. ..........

To Ed's list, I'd add:

Change distributor cap & distributor rotor
Change ignition wires
Change PCV valve

Altogether, these are the easy-to-do, but also fortunately low-cost, tune-up
items.

If things go wrong after all these are done, then the car will be easier to
troubleshoot.
