92 Accord Gear Shift Lever Sticking

I've got a 92 Accord Lx 4 door automatic with 200k miles on it. As soon
as the weather started warming up the gear shift lever become very hard
to get in and out of park. The parking claw(not sure this is the
correct name) doesn't always engage. Any suggestions on how to fix it or
does the cable need to be replaced. The dealer wants $350 to replace
the cable. Does anyone know how hard it is to replace the cable?

Thanks

Go to www.tegger.com and look in the TSB's section. In both the Accord
and Civic TSB's are recalls about 'can't remove key' or 'stuck in PARK'
or something to that effect. They all tell you how to adjust the length
of your shifter cable. Pick up a tiny blue aerosol spray can of LockEase
and hose all five locks with the tiny tube nozzle while you're at it. 16
years is a long time. Your ignition and doors will work like new again.
