92 Accord Vibration

Hi,

After having just replaced a Timing Belt and Oil pan gasket on a 92
Accord, I now have a vibration while driving and at a stop. It sounds
a little louder than before. I'm thinking it could be motor mounts or
the exhaust system. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Keith

Did someone do the work for you? The cross member and exhaust flex pipe
have to come off to do the oil pan. could be any number of things
causing your not too well described symptoms. My first guess is the heat
shield. or something loose on the pipes. There is an attach point for
the exhaust pipe just aft of the oil pan. Be sure it is tight. bob

I made a mistake of not having the dealership repalce the timing belt
on my wife's 92 accord lx. After it was finished the car wasn't
right. It was much louder and vibrated at idle and on acceleration.
The vibration was so bad at acceleration it made your hands hurt.
Took it back and they said nothing was wrong. I said it wasn't right
and for them to fix it. They said no. Took it to the dealer and they
took it all apart and found that the timing was out by 180 degrees.
After the dealer fixed it the car works perfect and has since it
happened back in 96. 150,000 on it and still going strong.

Good luck on your car.

Jeff
