94 Teg, start up problem
HELP!!! Can anyone help identify/fix this problem? I put the key in and
turn it all the way to start engine, and nothing happens. By nothing I mean, no sound, no lights. To start the car, i put the key in the gear lock, push the gears back and forth (auto car) a few times. Then put back in ignition. Takes a few times, but then it works. I don't know if the gear pushing has anything to do with it or not. In fact, now when i'm driving i hear funny metallic sorta dragging noises, at first I thought it was a loose muffler, but now I think it makes noise whenever the gear changes. Anyway, everything resets, clock, radio. Makes me think it's the battery, but it's less than 6 months old. Just had a major tuneup 6 months ago too! Guy at acura said the startup contacts were bad, and they said they fixed them, but apparently not ... Can anyone help? |

Do Acuras have electronic-controlled transmissions? I think they do. This sounds like a problem with the transmission computer, and since the car is under warranty, find another Acura dealer and let them at it. |
