97 Civic Headlamp replacement

The driver's side headlight is out and I'm not sure how to replace it. The
power steering pump is directly behind it and restricts access. Unscrewing
the headlamp assembly doesn't give enough play to get the new bulb in
either. Anyone know how this is supposed to be accomplished? Thanks,
Ed
