The window channels are fairly notorious for getting grabby - a shot of silicone spray lubricant along the window channel is inexpensive and easy to try. If this is the problem, the window will not jiggle back and forth in the channel when jammed. If it does.... It isn't unusual for the plastic gears in the window regulator (the device that moves the window up and down in the channel) to jam because the teeth have deformed a bit. The window doesn't appear to or change position when this happens - it just stops. The regulator is not repairable and the replacement part, with labor, is about $300. If you or a friend is up to doing the replacement yourself, wrecking yards will have guaranteed used regulators for under $100 (less from a pull-it-yourself yard). Best of luck. Mike |

Here is my old post on how I fixed power window on my 97 Civic EX. It's
a bit long but hopefully it will help. http://groups-beta.google.com/group/...21aff7654138ae |

I liberally coated the window tracks on both doors with silicone so I hope that this does not happen again. My luck is that it will happen again and again ... Thanks, Lynn |
