98 Civic Maintance
Just bought a 98 civic and there's no owners manual.
Is there a valve adjustment requirement? Same goes for spark plugs, anti freeze, and timing belt, automatic transmission fluid. 67k for miles, dealer said he would order me a manual, but I would like to take care of as much as possible while I am on holiday vacation. Why do people take the owners manual out when they trade a vehicle? Thanks Tom |
Re: 98 Civic Maintance
Click on "maintenance schedule" below. This is for a 1995 Civic and so
things might be very slightly different from a 1998. But it might be a good start. http://icelord.net/honda/repair/Serv...l/CivicManual/ Otherwise, many public libraries carry Chilton's and the like for Honda Civics. They may have the maintenance schedule. You can go to http://www.hondacars.com/info/custom...owserDetected= True . Look down near the bottom and they tell you to click on a link to go through the steps for ordering your own owner's manual. Not sure what it costs, if it costs. Alternatively, call them at the toll-free number at this site, 1-800-999-1009. Timing belts are 60k or 90k miles. You could ask the 800 number above for that. Re: 98 Civic Maintance
If you are in the USA go to http://honda.com and register your car there
(click on "owners link"). By doing that you will be able to check the maintenance schedule etc. for your car. You need the VIN to register. You can also buy both owners manuals and service manuals from http://www.helminc.com tflfb wrote: > > Just bought a 98 civic and there's no owners manual. > > Is there a valve adjustment requirement? > > Same goes for spark plugs, anti freeze, and timing belt, automatic > transmission fluid. > > 67k for miles, dealer said he would order me a manual, but I would like to > take care of as much as possible while I am on holiday vacation. > > Why do people take the owners manual out when they trade a vehicle? > > Thanks Tom |
