'99 Accord 4cyl Catalytic converter
I have 115K and the check engine light stays on. For a few months it would
clear itself and come back on a week or so later. It is a Code 67 for Low Catalytic Emissions threshhold. Honda parts want over $700 for the cat! I have searched the net and found only a couple listed as direct fit. Any suggestions on a reputable aftemarket seller. Also, is the O2 sensor difficult to remove and put in the new cat (hopefully the new cat will come with the hole for it!). Or am I better off buying a sensor also? Thanks in advance for any help. Re: '99 Accord 4cyl Catalytic converter
I think the emissions systems, including cat, are
warranted beyond the 3 year honda warranty by law. It is worth a "look see". But $700! I am pretty sure that a new 02 sensor is required for the cat's warranty OEM or aftermarket anyhow. There is a special 02 wrench for removing them. It is a big socket that has a slot for the wire. A 1/2" drive deep socket of the correct size can be used to get an old one out if you cut the wire(s). chuck LaForte wrote: > I have 115K and the check engine light stays on.
