99 Odyssey electrical issue

Greetings...

My 99 Oddy's gearshift is stuck in park and the brake lights are
dead. The 20 amp fuse under the hood blows the instant you step on
the pedal and you hear the click that releases the gearshift. I can
release the shifter with a key in the steering column but driving
around without brake lights is never a good idea. My question is has
anyone had this problem? If so what fixed it? I've checked the brake
light sockets and wires for water (we've had a lot of rain lately) but
everything seems fine. Google search was less than helpful.

Re: 99 Odyssey electrical issue

There is a short somewhere in the brake wiring and no one can magically tell
you where it is. If you don't have the knowledge to use a multimeter to
diagnose it take it to a qualified mechanic before someone rear ends you....

Tell us the accident history / mileage on the Odyssey . . . .

Maybe YOU should be asking for a free CarFAX. :-(
