Not so.

Those things that are not included in the standard 3/36 warranty (for
example, a rental car) *do* go into effect.

The deductible is optional. For an additional sum, you can have a $0
deductible.

The Hondacare warranty is exclusionary; i.e., if the problem is not
specifically excluded, it is included.

Note that this is not an endorsement. I did not purchase a Hondacare
extended warranty on my 2003 Accord. Just setting the record straight,
or as you put it, not criticizing, merely informing.

I got the V6 and love it. for gas mileage I get between 23 and 28, depends a
lot on how you feel like driving. I think I got a good price by going to the
Honda web site and sending out requests for bids from dealers in my area. I
paid $23211 for a EX V6 with destination took about a hour to buy the car.

The first three years are covered by the new car warranty so you pay for
something that you're getting for free. The extended warranty is.a big money
maker for the Dealer--I never take it.

Hooray for you. I look at it as a 4-year, 64,000-mile warranty which buys
me some peace of mind. Can't really put a price on that.

You can't go very far wrong either way.

The six will cost you another $50-$80/month for payments, gas,
insurance, registration. I got the four, it goes zero to 80 fast
enough for me that I seldom even get on the cam, probably don't draw
over 100hp in an average week. The six would be more fun, but unless
you're driving high-speed, up-hill, at-altitude, with three
passengers, with the air conditioning on, you don't *need* it as such.

Very reliable. By the time the standard three-year warranty is gone,
you should be well past any unlikely factory problems.

Anyway, I recommend you simply lease it for three years, let someone
else worry about it after that! Check out the pricing versus a
purchase loan, and I think you'll agree.

Reliability about a push. Performance about a push. Honda tries to
be just a few degrees faster and more sporty, Toyota tries to be just
a few points more cushy and quiet.

The way I see it, buying a Honda is like joining a cult, buying a
Toyota is like buying groceries.

4 cyl, has pep, is pretty good for a 4 cyl and gets better gas mileage.

6 cyl, has great performance. Takes mountain roads with a full load easily.
Merging and passing power to spare. Gets about 10% less gas mileage then
the 4.

I have both. One for my daughter (4 cyl) and one for me (6 cyl). My
preference, as you can see, is the 6.

Could you comment on noise in the cabin? I have a Civic and am very
happy with it, except that it is noisy at highway speed. Would the
Accord 4 or Accord 6 be better?

The 6 seems a little quiter. It may be due to the increased weight up
front, though with the windows up and the moonroof closed, both are pretty
good. Not exactly BMW or E class, but pretty good.
