Accord tranny or clutch prob?
 

I have a 99 honda accord EX manual, for some reason it is hard for me to get
into first gear, it goes about half way then gets stuck, pull the clutch and
you hear a grinding noise and it pushs the stick back in neutral. But if i
pump the clutch once and throw it back in and works fine. I check the
resivoir and the level is fine. Should i waste time even drianing and
refilling the fluid then bleed. Is this a tranny problem or clutch problem.

First gear syncros. See if you can find a Tech who is comfortable
fixing it for you. bob

like the clutch is not disengaging entirely.

I would bleed the clutch first. Air in the system could cause your
problem. Does it also have a problem if you try to put it in second gear
instead of first?

a mechanic told me that but i hadnt had a chance to do it, but sometimes
when i throw it in 2nd after 1st it doesnt go in all the way either and it
will grind, but if i am sitting there sometimes i cant put it into 3rd
either. But then again most of the time its sooth going into the gears this
happens maybe 2 out of 10 times. But still not normal.

Just a thought - have you verified the gearbox lube level is up to normal?
It does sound like a worn sychro, but low oil level can imitate that.

It does sound like a worn sychro, but low oil level can imitate that.
