Air Filter for CIVIC?
 
hi, i got a 98 civic gli hatchback and was thinking about getting a sports
air filter, will it make it sound better? can u notice the difference? how
much would one cost?

Sound will be the same. Get a K&N Filter with a flow thru exhaust system. Performance should go up OR the sound is so cool that you just can't resist stomping on it more often. Either way you are FAST & Furious!

if your going to do it, get a cold air intake, will increase performance
slightly (maybe 2-3 hp) and will give better gas mileage (slightly again)
unless you like the new sound you only get when your hard on the gas =)

It's okay to do that but it will have very little effect on the
performance of your vehicle. I suggest that you visit a Barnes and Noble
book store and try to find a book entitled, "Honda and Acura Performance
Handbook" by Mike Ancas. You don't have to buy it unless you want to but
you should read Chapter 6--Intake Systems.

difference? i was told u can hear the difference, i dont wanna get a new
exhaust sysetm n stuff cos that costs heaps, just the air filter, about $150
isnt it?
