Thanks! there is an open recall on pilots for this problem. depends on the vin number. the hydraulic tensioner fails and the timing advances, causing ping. call the dealer and have them run the vin. or post it here. For pinging, (if that's what it really is)about all you can do, as the owner, is try different fuel. Enjoy your new vehicle. I will keep everything documented. i've seen a few instances where the rear cam slipped a tooth when doing the tensioner and they ping from the rear cylinders. check the static timing, there's inspection holes on both cam covers.
